Music I love. Mostly new music, sometimes old music.
But I think it’s intoxicating when somebody is so unapologetically who they are.

It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Reflections Portraits by Tom Hussey

Tom Hussey portrays old people looking at their younger reflection in the mirror. These photographs are beautiful and melancholic.

This gave me chills

…So I started crying.

Ed. I’m reblogging this for him. I know he’ll love it.

I hate the way our society treats the elderly. Like lepers to be quarantined or children to be humored until they stop bothering us.

Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today.

The Streets - Going Through Hell

Song Of The Year, so far, I think you’ll find. For so many reasons.

And the fact that it’s not on the Radio 1 playlist tells you everything you need to know about the current state of Radio 1.
